My Shakeology Cleanse Results!

After 3 days on my Shakeology cleanse, I lost a total of 3.5 lbs. & 4 inches.  These results are pretty great for me because my weight doesn't fluctuate very much anymore.  I have built up a lot of muscle, so my weight drops pretty slowly. The great thing about this cleanse is that you are staying hydrated the whole time and getting plenty of nutrients for your body.  I did end up feeling pretty tired the first day, but I was also taking in about 1200 calories less than my body needs in a day.  So, after I bumped that up a little bit, I had much more energy.  I really wasn't that hungry because Shakeology fills me up, especially with all of the ice and water.  I also exercised less than I normally do, but I had expected to do so.

Here are my recommendations if you are going to try the cleanse:  Don't wait too long to eat, especially if you are feeling light-headed.  If you feel tired, grab a piece of fruit.  Don't be afraid to add a few more calories in if you need to.  Make sure you drink your water and green tea.  Weigh & measure yourself before you start.  You might not see weight loss, but you could see your measurements change.  Also, make sure you plan ahead for all of your meals.  That way, you will have everything you need and you can make sure you can complete it.  Good luck!

Shakeology Cleanse Day #3

I was down another 1.5 lbs. this morning, which brings my total to 3 lbs. & 3 inches lost.  I have been eating a little more, which seems to help with the tiredness.  I am definitely feeling better today.

Here's what I ate today:

Breakfast:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ 1/2 cup black cherries, ice & water- 185 calories

Snack:  green tea & a banana-  100 calories

Lunch:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ ice & water- 140 calories

Snack:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ 1/2 cup black raspberries, ice & water-  185 calories

Dinner:  Caesar salad w/ spinach, romaine, chicken & croutons- 500 calories

Snack:  apple- 75 calories

Total calories:  1185 calories

All in all, it was a fanastic day!  My energy levels were back up & I'm feeling lighter.  I will post final results tomorrow. :)

Shakeology Cleanse Day #2

As of this morning, I have lost 1.5 lbs.  I am feeling a little tired today, but my 2 year old also woke up 2 hours earlier than usual, so I can't be for sure if it is the cleanse or not. :)

Here's what I ate today:

Breakfast:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ 1/2 cup black cherries, ice & water- 185 calories

Snack:  green tea & a banana- 100 calories

Lunch:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ ice & water-  140 calories

Snack:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ 2/3 cup blueberries, ice & water-  186 calories

Dinner: Caesar salad w/ spinach, romaine, chicken & croutons-  500 calories

Snack:  coffee w/ creamer & stevia (major cheat, but my headache won't go away)- 50 calories

Water- 48 additional ounces

Total calories:  1166 calories

I feel like I lacked energy all day, so I added some more calories.  I also ended up starting my period today (early), so that is what I believed caused the headache (sorry for sharing too much info).  I was down another 1 lb. this afternoon, so we'll see what tomorrow's results are.

Shakeology Cleanse Day #1

Today was my first day of my 3 day Shakeology cleanse.  Other than feeling a bit hungry and little lightheaded because I waited too long to eat dinner, things went well.

Here's what I ate today:

Breakfast:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ 1/2 cup black cherries & ice & water- 185 calories

Snack:  green tea

Lunch:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ 1 cup blueberries & ice & water- 210 calories

Snack:  green tea

Snack:  Chocolate Shakeology w/ ice & water- 140 calories

Dinner: Salad w/ Caesar dressing & chicken & whole wheat croutons (slight cheat) -500 calories

Total calories: 1035 calories

I ended up having an additional 48 oz. of water so far today, not including the 30 in the Shakeology or in the tea.  So, I definitely got my water in too.

I'm interested to see how I feel tomorrow morning because this is quite a few calories less than I normally eat in a day and I am going to be lifting weights.  So, I'll see how it goes.

Why I can't exercise (Excuse #2)

I don't have the energy!

When you are thinking about starting a workout program, it can be very difficult to get yourself motivated to get started, especially if you feel tired all of the time.  If you have a job where you sit around all day, you might still feel tired when you get home.  If you are mom chasing around kids all day, exercising might be the last thing you want to do.  The thing many people don't understand is that if you start exercising, you will have more energy.  It might be rough going that first week, but after you get into your routine, you will have more energy than you have had in a long time.  The key is finding a workout that you really enjoy doing, one that you actually miss if you don't do it.  That way, you will be motivated to stick with it and have that energy you need to truly enjoy your life.

Why I can't exercise! (Excuse #1)

I don't have time to exercise!

Everyone is busy with life, with work, with their families, but that doesn't mean you can't fit it all in.  You just need to make it a priority in your life and schedule it as you would anything else that is important to you.

Are you still thinking you don't have the time?  Think about your life.  Could you get up a little earlier?  Could you go to bed a little earlier to make that possible?  Could you do your workout immediately after work?  If you are a stay-at-home mom, could you get a workout in during naptime or would your child workout with you or let you workout while he or she does something else?  Are you spending time at night watching a few shows on t.v.?  If so, would you be willing to give some of that time up to better yourself?  If you really want to do it, you can.  You just need to let your family members know that it is important to you.  Don't feel guilty for taking time for yourself.  It will make you a better person in every aspect of your life.

Excited for the Holidays!!!

As the weather gets colder and the seasons start to change, I find myself getting truly excited for the holidays for the first time in a very long time.  My outlook on life has changed so much that I am able to see the good in everything and not let the negative drag me down.  Life feels nostalgic and so many good memories are flowing!  As the leaves began to change, I started to remember all of the wonderful times I had in college and how great of an experience it was for me.  The weather also reminded me of how beautiful my wedding was in the park and how much fun Bryan and I have had over the years taking pictures there.  The leaves have turned beautiful and are falling off the trees, making way for a delightful revival in the spring.  I took Bryce there to play the other day and he had so much fun crunching the leaves, sitting on leaf piles, and being covered in them.  I love that I can share a place that has had such meaning to me with him and watch him enjoy it as much as I have.

As we go shopping this time of year, Christmas lights & decorations are slowly appearing everywhere.  Bryce loves them!  He is fascinated by all of this, which why we are going have an amazing Christmas light display this year!  I can't wait to take him around to see everything and watch his reactions.  We will have so much fun at Christmas and throughout the winter.  He will truly understand what it is to play in the snow, to make a snowman, and to go sledding.  I'm getting excited just talking about it!  I've also found myself wanting to go Christmas shopping, which if you know me, is a huge deal for me.  I've hated Christmas shopping for as long as I can remember, but I guess I just really want to share my joy with others this year.  I have found myself again and it has truly changed me!  I feel like once again I am that fun-loving person who just radiates positivity.  I am becoming the person I've always wanted to be.  It is truly exciting!

How I Lost the Baby Weight!

The day I had my son, I was bigger than I ever thought I could possibly be, but I thought it would be easy and that the weight would just come off.  Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for me.  I lost a little weight immediately, but then I ended up gaining weight while breastfeeding and I didn't lose one pound until I was done.  Finally, in February 2010, I found my solution.  I started doing a program called Chalean Extreme.  The workouts were short enough for me to get done , but intense enough to give me the results I wanted.  The weight and inches started to fall off.
My body started to transform and feel fantastic.  I was feeling better than I had in 2 years.

Personal development? Who has time for that?

It is amazing how much your life can change in such a short period of time!  A very important part in succeeding as a Beachbody coach, is working on your own personal development.  So what is personal development?  It is simply working on improving yourself, in essence, letting yourself grow into the person you should be.  Most people do not take the time to do this.  They feel it isn't important and that maybe they will work on it someday if they have the time, but you know someday never comes.  You have to plan it and make it happen.  That's what I've been doing with my life.

Since I started reading 10 pages a day, my life has gotten so much better.  The knowledge and insight you can gain about yourself and others is priceless and so completely worth taking the time to do.  The first book I read was "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson.  It is a fantastic book and has completely changed my outlook on life!  The Slight Edge simply shows you how to create powerful results from the simple daily activities of your life, by using tools that are already within you. And all you need to make that happen? Discover that "one" thing that will help you achieve that goal, realize a life-long dream or propel you up the ladder to success. Once you got it, then you will discover how your philosophy... creates your attitude... creates your actions... creates your results... creates YOUR LIFE!  So, if you want to change your outlook on life, I would definitely recommend reading it.

Since that, I have read a few more books, just by simply reading a little bit every single day and all of the information has been invaluable.  So please, invest in yourself, invest in your future, and take some time to think about your life, where you are, and where you want to be.  You can make it happen!  You already have everything you need to do it!

From no dreams to big dreams!

It seems like not very long ago, I had quit dreaming. I felt stuck and that it was too late for me to do anything else with my life. I had thought that when I graduated from college, I would get this great job and be successful. I worked several jobs, but nothing seemed to be fufilling. Every job had something wrong with it. There wasn't enough support, it was boring, it wasn't for me, etc. Then, I finally started the job I thought I had wanted most. I became a stay at home mom to my son Bryce. Little did I know that this would be the hardest job I have ever had in my life. With very little vacation and hardly any breaks, it is very demanding and definitely not for everyone. It is definitely the most rewarding job I've ever had, but I still needed something different. I was struggling to be a good mom because I didn't like myself. I was overweight. I didn't make any time for myself. I just didn't recognize who I was anymore. I finally took the time for me and started working on myself early this year. I started working out 5-6 days a week. I started reading personal development books, and I started working on builidng my own business. Now, I have changed my body, I have changed my mind, and I have changed my future. I am dreaming big and setting huge goals for myself! By using Beachbody programs, and by becoming a coach, I have truly changed my life. I have more ambition than I can ever remember having and I just want to share that with everyone!

Happiness is just a mindset away.

I've been reading the book, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff for Women" by Kristine Carlson.  Kristine states that boredom is not real, that we simply create it by not living in the present.  What a powerful statement!  If boredom does not exist outside of our mind, then we should easily be able to change our mindset and ultimately our overall happiness with our lives, right?  While I believe the concept is wonderful, I do not think it accounts for all causes of boredom.

I'm sure we all have heard ourselves saying, "I"m bored", from time to time in our lives without giving it a second thought.  Well, I have been thinking about my life lately and trying to live in the present.  While this has definitely given me insight on how to enjoy the day to day tasks of being a stay-at-home mom and to really enjoy having fun with my son, it still leaves me with some unanswered questions.  What about those of us who feel like we haven't accomplished all we are capable of?  What about those of us who miss that intellectual stimulation from joining in on a hot debate or even attending college classes?  Is it really possible to just live in the present when you feel like you have so much to offer the world and yet you have been unable to figure out how to get it out there?  Can you really just put aside your past or your ideas for your future and be who you are right now?

I truly hope it is that simple, but I have a feeling that there is a reason I have been bored with every job I have ever had.  I will always want more out of life.  Maybe I will never be a truly happy person or maybe I just haven't found what I'm looking for yet, but for now, I will try to enjoy the journey as much as the anticipated destination.
